Our story

Boxing. Just not as you know it.

jeem opened in October 2021 in a 450-square-metre underground space in Racine: one studio, nightclub lights, a live-band stage, a bar, and a track stadium next door. Not a gym you're a number in. A room where the coach knows your name and your excuses.

Our founder

Yassine Ouarrach

Born and raised in Casablanca. Left at 18 for engineering at École Centrale de Paris, then spent eight years in London as a derivatives trader at HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Crédit Suisse. Somewhere between the trading floor and the Thames he found running, then triathlon, then two Ironman 70.3 finishes in 2018 and a habit of signing up for things that hurt.

In 2019 he came home with one idea: Casablanca deserved a boutique studio that was as hard as London's best and warmer than any of them. In the first years he was the coach, the receptionist, the marketing department and the boss. The room you train in is the result.

These days the coaches run the room. He's the one at the back checking the music is loud enough.

The family

Nobody is nicer. Nobody is harder.

Students, doctors, mums, consultants, people who have never done sport and people who've done too much. What they share: they want to train, and they want a place that gets them there. We're the ones who make discipline look worth it.

We train together, suffer together, laugh together. Some of us cry. The wall by the stairs is covered in what people wrote on their way out. Read it before your first class.
